Stereophonics Tickets for 2010 UK Tour

Stereophonics have announced an UK arena tour for next year. Newcastle Arena (March 1)
Glasgow SECC (3), Nottingham Arena (5), Birmingham NIA (6), Manchester MEN (7)
Sheffield Arena (9), London O2 Arena (10). The line up for this year's Teenage Cancer Trust gigs has been announced. Kasabian, Stereophonics and Antony & The Johnsons will headline the gigs, which take place in March, with Florence And The Machine supporting Antony & The Johnsons. 'Gavin And Stacey' comedians Mathew Horne and James Corden are also set to appear at the event's annual evening of comedy. Curated by The Who's Roger Daltrey, who is also patron of Teenage Cancer Trust, tickets for the gigs go onsale on February 13 at 10am (GMT). Now celebrating their ninth year, the shows once again take place at London's Royal Albert Hall. Stereophonics described as "classic UK rock delivered with whiskey vocals," the Stereophonics have been summarised as possessing a sound akin to the genres of alternative rock and "British traditional rock." Stereophonics' debut album, Word Gets Around, was released in August 1997 and instantly charted at number six in the UK, aided by the singles "Local Boy in the Photograph", "More Life in a Tramps Vest" and "A Thousand Trees", all of these albums of Stereophonics which failed to affect the top 20, and the Stereophonics fifth studio album, Language. Sex. Violence. Other? was released in March 2005. It marked their first recording with new drummer Javier Weyler. On December 8, 2009, the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games announced the line up for performers for the nightly Victory Ceremonies. These ceremonies will include 30 mins of entertainment from the evening's host province/territory, 30 mins of medal presentation, and a one hour performance by a musical talent. Stereophonics will perform at this event on February 20th-Yukon night.
